Dinner and program cost $20, (Students $5) payable at the door (check or cash).

Dinner will be a buffet with a choice of baked stuffed chicken breast with supreme sauce or meat lasagna, with a variety of salads and side dishes.

PROGRAM ABSTRACT:Mr. King is Deputy Secretary for Planning Office of Planning for PENNDOT and is responsible for statewide transportation planning and programming activities and for developing and managing the Commonwealth’s multi-modal Twelve Year Transportation Program. Topics for the evening include:

· PA’s 12 – Year Plan
· Bridges in PA’s Upcoming Program

ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Since joining PennDOT in 1969, Mr. King has held a variety of technical and managerial positions in transportation planning and programming. He became Deputy Secretary for Planning in December, 1991 and was reappointed to the position by Governor Ridge in April, 1995. Mr. King is in charge of PennDOT’s Office of Planning, which is responsible for statewide transportation planning and programming activities and for developing and managing the Commonwealth’s multi-modal Twelve Year Transportation Program. Key to these activities is the management of federal highway and bridge funds which leverage a construction program of $1.5 billion per year. Mr. King is active in technical and policy activities of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, and pursues federal legislative initiatives on behalf of the Department. He was closely involved in deliberations with members of the Pennsylvania Congressional Delegation which led to enactment of the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (TEA-21). Mr. King has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and has done graduate work in transportation planning and engineering.
